I’ve been around them since I was a kid. Though, I’ve also left and returned to comics more times than I can count. 

I’ve talked about this quite a bit, but my dad was career Air Force and comics are (or were — I can’t speak to the experience today, but in the 1970s, this was certainly true) pretty ingrained in the culture.  The first comics I bought for myself I got for 45 cents at the Stars & Stripes book store at Hahn AFB in Germany. After that I got savvy and started picking up stacks for cheap at base swap meets.
